18th November

Paul and Martha recently spent a few days in Belgium (more here, here and here). A major commemoration programme has been running in Flanders this year to mark the 90th anniversary of the battle of Passchendaele, and Paul received a very special invitation to attend a Canadian commemorative weekend from 9th-11th November. Queen Elizabeth II and the King and Queen of Belgium attended the opening ceremony at Tyne Cot Cemetery in July (pictures) so it was a huge honour for him to be asked to the closing ceremony on Remembrance Day. Coming right on the tail of filming "Passchendaele", the weekend was no doubt particularly emotional for Paul.

The due South fan convention RCW 139: Toronto Holiday will take place from 15th-17th August 2008 at the Toronto Marriott Bloor Yorkville (the former Radisson where RCW 139 was held from 1997-1999). David Marciano has been the first cast member to confirm his attendance. More at RCW139.org.

It's a long time since we heard anything about The Trojan Horse (the sequel to H2O), but Felicity has just spotted this at the Whizbang Films website:

"Slated for broadcast in April 2008, is the 2 x 2 hour mini-series The Trojan Horse. The Trojan Horse stars Paul Gross, Tom Skerritt and Greta Scacchi, and is directed by renowned Quebec director, Charles Binamé. The mini-series has been short listed for the very prestigious FIPA competition taking place in Biarritz, France in January 2008."
