The Slings and Arrows/Stratford Festival package eBay auction was closed early because of an error in the listing. It reached $137.50 US before it was withdrawn, but it still hadn't met its reserve at that point. It's been relisted at http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6537106266 until 12th June. Paul is to co-host a concert for Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip at the Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton, Alberta on 23rd May. There are were 50,000 free tickets available but the event is now sold out except to wheelchair users. Thanks to Wendy for this news and to Vic for the update on the ticket situation. Great news for the US - The Sundance Channel has acquired the rights to Slings & Arrows. Our thanks to Mary again! And Janet adds: "Sundance has bought 18 episodes, including two, six-episode seasons already in the can and the rights to an upcoming third season. The series will debut on Sundance in August 2005."

Paul and John have won the 2005 "MOW and Miniseries" Canadian Screenwriting Award for H2O. Congratulations to both! Thanks to Mary for letting us know.

Carole writes that Wilby Wonderful is one of about 200 films featuring at the Commonwealth Film Festival in Manchester (UK) next month. It will be shown on Saturday 7th May 2005 at 6.15pm at AMC 16 Cinemas.
Bravo (Canada) is going to be airing Chasing Rainbows again, starting on Friday 15th April at 12 pm ET. Thanks to Erin for the news!

Good news, especially for those of us who live outside Canada and haven't seen H2O yet - it will very shortly be released on Region 1 DVD. It can be pre-ordered from amazon.ca for $17.49 CDN with delivery expected around 26th April.
There will be an encore presentation of the mini-series H2O starting on Sunday 10th April at 8 pm on CBC. Thanks to Chantal for letting us know.

The IMDB is listing Paul Gross in a new project entitled The Tommy Douglas Story. Paul is to play John Diefenbaker in the Canadian mini series about political icon Tommy Douglas. In a recent National Post article (no longer available on line), Paul is quoted as saying: "He's younger and I'm sort of vaguely sounding like him. We discussed at one point going with something that had real jowly stuff but in the end John [director John N. Smith] was wise to try and keep it more to do with the spirit of the man than the likeness." Thank goodness for that, we say! And thanks to Angela and Mary for the news.

Wilby Wonderful is in the American news. The film is now available for pre-order on DVD from amazon.com and it will be screened at the Cleveland International Film Festival tonight and tomorrow (thanks Wendy). There is a movie review in today's Boston Globe (thanks Penny) which mentions a weekend run at the Brattle Theatre.

As part of the celebrations to mark 100 years of Maclean's, Paul Gross and Atom Egoyan will take part in a discussion entitled "The Director's Chair" with film critic Brian D Johnson in Vancouver on 14th March.
